The difference between Dot matrix printer and thermal printer
Dot matrix printer is the use of mechanical and circuit driving principle, the needle hit the print ribbon and print media, and then print out the dot, and then to complete the print job from the dot matrix characters or graphics.
The working principle of a thermal printer print head mounted with the semiconductor heating element, and in contact with the thermal print head heating the paper after printing a desired pattern can be printed, the image is fixed by heating, chemical reaction generated in the film. This thermal printer is the chemical reaction at a certain temperature. High temperatures accelerate the chemical reaction.
