OCOM and SGS officially completed the application of SONCAP ROUTE B after few weeks, as well completed the SONCAP inspection and loading on November 4th, 2018.
SONCAP container set sail for Nigeria on 5th. November.
For past few weeks, due to foreign department delays, it wasted a lot of time from the initial provision of test reports to the issuance of PC originals, which also have caused our shipping schedule not to be arranged earlier. Anyway, everything was under control, and our products have passed the audit and quality inspection of each step smoothly.
The SONCAP certification application consists of processes:
Steps | Processes | Information Required |
Step 1. Product certification (PC certificate) | The first step is product certification. All regulated products must first apply for a PC certificate. The certificate is valid for 1-3 years. First provide a CE test report and submit it to the appropriate office for conversion to a PC. | (1), PC application form, (2), sample, (3), agency authorization letter, (4), trademark registration certificate, |
Step 2. FORM M Application | After the PC certificate is issued, it is provided to the Nigerian importer. The importer must apply for Form M at the designated bank in Nigeria and provide a scanned copy to the importer. | (1), PC certificate scan, (2), PI invoice, (3), fill in the FORM M application form |
Step 3. SONCAP mandatory certification. (SC certificate) | The last step is SONCAP mandatory certification, which is applicable to a certain batch of pre-shipment cargo. Each shipment clearance requires a SONCAP certificate, which is valid once. The lack of a SONCAP certificate will result in delays in customs clearance of regulated products or may be denied entry. | (1) bill of lading (2) packing list (3) commercial invoice (4) SC SONCAP application form (5) PC certificate |
